About Bruntons

Based in Musselburgh on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland, Bruntons Aero Products has a rich history dating back to the late 19th Century.  Our current 20,000 sq ft facility has been located on the Inveresk Industrial Estate for over 20 years.  The business was acquired by Carclo PLC in 1985, and over the last decade the site has invested in multiple new machine centres, inspection equipment, and a CAD-CAM engineering system.

Bruntons supply machined components and assemblies, cable assemblies, arrestor ropes a tie-rods to many civil and defence sector OEM’s. Our site holds a range of industry and customer specific approvals, allowing us to work with a broad range of aircraft platforms. As the original manufacturer of ‘Streamline Wires’, first developed in 1909, Bruntons continue to supply these to vintage aircraft enthusiasts around the world. As well as vintage, modern experimental and sport aerobatic aircraft are also catered for. In more recent years, our wires have been utilised by many of the top teams in the high stress world of Formula 1 racing. Since the 1970’s, we have also manufactured Cross Runway Landing Systems or ‘Arrestor Ropes’ used for the emergency landing of military aircrafts, supplying these to various customers across Europe.
